ROCK THE CASTLE CONCERT AND FAMILY DAY

Event Date: Saturday 17th April 2010

THIS IS THE DETAILS OF THIS EXCITING EVENT AS PUBLISHED ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE BY EVENTS MANAGER DANIEL LAVERY.

*******************

Operation Braveheart is on course full steam ahead for an amazing event which has been named "Rock the Castle"; to be held on April 17th 2010 at the Exeter City Castle, Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom. Apologies to those of you who have accepted my first invitation and got the response "Event Cancelled" - hands up, it was me - IT expert Not!!!! So we will try again.

Gates will be opened at 1000hrs on April 17th, 2010; by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, the Lady Mayoress, the Deputy Lord Mayor and partner, who have kindly accepted the invitation to conduct the Opening Ceremony. Operation Braveheart's Chairman, Mr David Godfrey has been given the responsibility of formally accepting the arrivals of the City's finest in Office. On hand to document and record the event will be the local and national media, with Westcountry ITV and BBC Spotlight both being invited to broadcast the official opening.

The 'Rock the Castle' event is the largest fundraiser Operation Braveheart has ever held, and would like to take this opportunity to thank Exeter Castle for their support in allowing us to run the event in their grounds. From 1000hrs - 1630hrs Operation Braveheart would like to invite absolutely everyone to the Castle Grounds for a Family Day. Entrance to the Castle is completely FREE! To entertain all of us children young and old, there will be Bucking Broncos, Bouncy Castles, Local Entertainers such as jugglers, face painters, balloon artists and so on... There will live music throughout the day from our local radio station, a military band will be making an appearance and Exeter's Army Cadet Force will be on hand to demonstrate the skills under the command of Lt Neil Webber, their Commanding Officer. There will be displays and stalls, for all to browse, inluding one with military gifts. Perfect for those of you who have served or know someone who is. Various events will be staged throughout the day including raffles; and the chance for you to walk away with some amazing prizes! A Hog Roast is also on offer with the mandatory BBQ, and a licenced bar to wash it all down.

The location was given careful consideration, Exeter Castle was chosen for its acessibility factor, with an entrance right next to Exeter Central Railway Station, an excellent bus network going past the front door, easy coach access, and only a 20min taxi ride from Exeter International Airport.

The family day finishes at 1630hrs to allow the grounds to be cleared and stalls and displays removed prior to the evening event which starts at 1900hrs. Ticket holders will be allowed to remain in the Castle grounds in between times and enjoy a drink while the acts warm up. Security personnel will remove anyone from the grounds who cannot produce their tickets when requested. Please note the bar area is restricted to over 18's only. No Drugs or Alcohol are allowed to be brought into the Castle, and security personnel have the right to refuse admission - this is not negotiable.

The highlight of our day finishes off with an outdoor concert with Headline Act Diamondogz. This Glam Rock Band famous for appearing in full make up and costume sold out on the Quay last year with 2500 people. They follow two warm up acts who are yet to confirm. Watch our website www.operationbraveheart.org.uk for more details. Also check out the Exeter Castles website, www.exetercastle.co.uk for their write up on the event. An exciting end to the evening is special guest, Dance DJ Paul B aka DJ Bullet. DJ Bullet is breaking off from his european travels to attend our show for which we thank him sincerely. Bullet has a massive following and we are sure that with such a fantastic line up our remaining tickets will sell. Already we are proud to announce we only have 1500 tickets for the event left.
