THE RESULT AND WINNER OF THE LE MAN PRIZE DRAW

in all my life I have never been on a roller coaster, you know the ones I mean no doubt, like the big one at Blackpool, and I am told that you leave your stomach behind when it dives down to the bottom.

These last few weeks has been just like that for me, my emotions all up and down and all over the place as i have brought this prize draw to its conclusion, days have gone into weeks and those weeks felt like an eternity as the draw tickets were gathered in,like the sower who gathered in the sheaves of his labors as his seed ripened into new corn.

Too, those emotions have been one of anger and frustration, anger and frustration at myself because I could not do as i wanted to do in support of our Daniels comrades, and our many wounded servicemen and women because of the pain in my knees, but what the heck, its what has been achieved that matters the most.

Tonight though I have let things get the better of me, my guard slipped, and tears have flowed, and please don't think any worse of me for being like that, because so many tears have been shed, by so many people, so many families, tears of grief and sadness, tears of joy and rejoicing for the living and the lost.

The tears I cried tonight have been of both joy and thankfulness, such joy that against all the odds operation braveheart has succeeded, such heartfelt thankfulness that I have so many friends, so many neighbors and so many caring supporters from all over the country who have gone the extra mile to help me to bring loving care and support to so many bravehearts who have faced personal living tragedies and the ultimate sacrifice so bravely born.

You might well ask this warm night the 2nd of June, who, in 2009 is my neighbor? your neighbor is called trust, he/she is called love and devotion, and such neighbors have I personally found and you too can find that neighbor if you open your heart and listen to that inner voice you know so well.

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF the good book says, and I just want to tell you tonight of that love which has been given by so many for those bravehearts.

It is with both pleasure and indeed sadness too that I reveal the winner of this superb prize of the weekend in France for the Le mans 24hr Endurance race, sadness that I cant make each one of you who bought tickets a winner, but the prize has to be that together we are doing something very special indeed for those who give so much for each of us, so that we can sleep soundly in our beds without fear or terror.

The winner of the prize comes from a village called Bradninch which is near Exeter in Devon his name is CHRIS ANDREWS AND HE IS 19, So congratulations Chris and I hope that you and your friend will have a fantastic time in France.

i know that for the remainder of you who bought tickets there is much disappointment and I am so sorry that I can only say that little word SORRY but I hope you understand and that you will want to help the next time you hear from operation braveheart.

A total of 1591 tickets were bought, and you guys should be proud of yourselves in what you have done. after paying my share toward the cost of the prize operation Braveheart has £1273.00 to share with my four chosen service charities THE ARMY BENEVOLENT FUND, SSAFA, THE RBL AND COMBAT STRESS.

Finally and quite deliberately i have left till last my thanks to the company who have so wonderfully helped Operation Braveheart to make this possible and I lift them high on my shoulders and say THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU to WILDSIDE UK I am deeply honored to have this company as one of my devoted supporters of the family of bravehearts of this our beloved country, so thank you my dear friends for your unstinting support.

My dearest friends everywhere, never underestimate the dedication of this countries armed services, those bravehearts who lay their lives on the line for each one of us, and should that dark cloud of doubt cross your mind STOP! and in sincerity to yourself as yourself this question WHERE WOULD I BE WITHOUT THEM??
