HAILING STAR
Date added: Saturday 15th November 2008
We hear so much these days about the young of today, about how laid back they are and how they don't understand about much these days and certainly don't understand much about the wars that the older generation went through and have no respect for others and our surroundings.
Some comments spoken by the older community are valid comments no doubt as we see so much happening in our towns and cities involving the young and drink and drugs, but one has to ask are they that much different from when we ourselves were young?
Perhaps it wasn't so much in the open as it is today and certainly the young people of today face far more pressure than I myself can remember from my growing up years, let’s face it, we never heard about drug abuse or drug dealers and people trafficking, on street drinking etc, yet those same problems were there just the same but were very much hidden from view by the elders of the day.
Maybe we, the older generation expect too much of the young of today as it seems to me that they have, and are, being forced into adulthood by the pressures of the 21st century and are not allowed the happiness of growing up that we knew as children.
Yes we see many things happen on the streets of Britain today, bad things like knife crime, thuggery and violence, binge drinking and car crime but thankfully not all young people I n this country can be placed in the class known as troublemakers and uncaring of society.
Indeed some are knowledgeable beyond their years and have a greater understanding of world affairs way beyond their years and due credit should be given them for that. Many of our young people understand about war and what it means to be involved in war even though such events were way before their time.
We have such young people as this as I have mentioned in my home town of Cullompton here in Devon, and I am honored to introduce them to you here. These guys have a special place in what Operation Braveheart is, and stands for, and I welcome ELLIOT, MATT, LUKE AND HELEN to my website and to introduce them to you today.
To many young people they are known as HAILING STAR, a young, up and coming rock band, which base their music on the likes of Iron Maiden, and similar bands of that ilk. The music they play is definitely earth shattering, and ground breaking as I can vouch for having visited them on a rehearsal recently, but luckily I remember Iron maiden of old being a fan myself for some years in my more youthful days.
These guys are unique in a special way because they have done something rather special in support of our servicemen and my grandson Daniel in particular. Elliot has written a song and the band has put music to the song which is called fallen heroes, this has been dedicated to the memory of Daniel and his fallen comrades.
This is now out on CD and is available to buy in record shops and soon to be available online from Hailing stars website. All the proceeds from the sale of the CD is going to Operation Braveheart in its support of our wounded servicemen, and I thank them profoundly for what they have done in Daniels name for our servicemen and women.
There are many such young people as Elliott, Matt, Luke and Helen up and down this country who understand far more than us oldies give them credit for and we should all be encouraging them for that. So thank you my young friends for your love, care and RESPECT of those in your generation we have lost and I am sure that many people will want to buy the CD and help to support those who care for and support us the people of Great Britain.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BUY A CD AND HAVE DIFFICULTY IN OBTINING IT PLEASE CONTACT OPERATION BRAVEHEART VIA EMAIL AND I WIL SEND YOU ONE. THE COST PER DISC IS £3.99 + PP
